CHELSEA DIVINE

Chelsea Divine has been blessed to have dance play a major role throughout her life. Dancing professionally with Odyssey Dance Theatre, in Disney’s High School Musical 3 and in MTV’s American Mall; teaching and choreographing for many dance, drill and studio teams; and coaching drill team for the past 14 years!

Chelsea is the Head Drill Team Coach at Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah. Teaching full-time, Chelsea also runs the Hillcrest Yoga Program and teaches 9th grade PE. She is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Utah Dance & Drill Coaches Association and as the Membership Recruit Assistant Director for the National Dance Coaches Association.

Chelsea’s great love and passion for teaching and coaching inspired her to earn a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah in Exercise and Sport Science emphasizing in Sport Pedagogy, which helped her to further develop her coaching philosophy. Chelsea strives to guide and support her students and athletes in becoming champions both on and off the floor. She has led Hillcrest Drill to win 9 Region Titles and 3 State Championships! While also choreographing many State and National winning routines for other drill and dance teams. Chelsea was recently recognized as the 2024 UHSAA Drill Team Coach of the year and was also awarded the 2024 NFHS Utah Spirit Coach of the Year.

Chelsea’s greatest joys in life are found in raising her two children with her husband Alex and in the lasting friendships she has with so many of her dancers and students. She feels truly blessed to do what she loves, with the very best, every single day! And is especially grateful for the opportunity to teach at and be part of the Utah Dance Institute family!
